About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to join our client, focusing on the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and beauty markets. The primary responsibility will be driving profitable sales growth by promoting our core packaging product areas. The ideal candidate will proactively retain and develop new business, identify opportunities to maximize revenue and profit, and align with the strategic sales plan. The role reports directly to the Regional Sales Director and will be performance-measured based on defined KPIs including sales revenue, gross margin, conversion ratios, and market activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Regional Sales Growth
Develop and maintain relationships with potential customers to sell packaging products effectively.
Generate new business through regional prospecting and targeting new customers.
Drive revenue growth within the existing customer portfolio, meeting regional performance KPIs.
Identify new opportunities to deliver both revenue and profitability growth.
Manage the entire sales process from inquiry and qualification to order completion.
Engage with key accounts to drive business growth.
Build and sustain effective customer relationships to increase sales.
Sales Planning and Customer Development
Develop and implement a prospect plan for new business opportunities.
Conduct thorough customer preparation to pitch packaging products effectively.
Deliver growth plans for existing customers in line with sales objectives.
Present and pitch relevant packaging solutions to the market.
Attend regional sales events and represent the company professionally.
Manage lead opportunities and track progress effectively.
Handle price requests and ensure proper commercial positioning in all sales discussions.
Sales Performance Management
Regularly review customer performance, focusing on revenue and gross margin/EBITDA.
Create action plans for underperforming customers to improve results.
Leverage information systems to derive actionable insights from the portfolio.
Provide effective narrative to support financial reporting and decision-making.
Expected Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Sales Growth: Achieve market sales targets as outlined in the current year plan and compare with prior year results, delivering growth aligned with regional and commercial targets.
Conversion Ratios: Meet conversion targets as measured through Salesforce, including win ratio, enquiry-to-order ratio, pipeline value, cross-product sales, and customer visits.
Customer Engagement: Develop strategies to improve regional results, customer satisfaction, and personal development, measured through the Performance Development Review (PDR) process.
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a sales-focused role within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or beauty markets.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce to track sales performance.
Excellent understanding of the packaging industry and its requirements.
Results-oriented with a focus on driving both revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
